Uttoran – III

The project area  is situated in two  economically vulnerable Gram Panchayets under Gosaba Block in the District of South 24 Parganas.  It is worthy  to be  mention here that the proposed location lies six fits below sea level and also, the average depth of the rivers is below 5 metres which criss-cross the area by major rivers   like Matla, Bidyadhari, Gosaba, Saptamukhi, and Durgadoani  and these rivers frequently overflow its banks.

Main livelihood scope of this area is agriculture and fishing in the rivers . But the flood brings saline water from the rivers and  soil salinity has highly increased.
