Title of the Project : SAD Sundarban Education Project

SAD Sundarban Education project is  a residential Education programme for the  students  belongs to most backward families in the remote villages of Sundarbans Island from class I to Class XII. The residential hostel is located at Panchamkhanda Village in Mathurapur Block – II. At present 32 disadvantaged children getting benefits from the  academic session from 1st January 2025.

The project facilitator team is consisting of 1 Boarding In charge, 2 Community teachers, 1 special teacher, 1 cook and 1 cleaner who are looking after the children. The children are receiving tuitions twice a day morning and evening  and also taking part in Co-curriculum activities, sports and cultural events.

The teachers are committed and follow up the progress of the children as per their strength and weakness. Based on an educational evaluation of individual children, the teachers extended extra effort to the students who are weak in studies.  At present 32  children from the different part of Sundarban are getting benefits of  food & accommodation including supplementary tuition in morning and evening. Additionally, providing educational materials and medical check up.

Objectives:

To obtain quality education and ensure adequate health care for 32 disadvantaged students (boys) from marginalized backgrounds.

Activities :

Providing protected environment for quality education. Providing 4 Squares meal in a day
Providing supplementary tuition for all students for coping up the school curriculum. Providing School uniforms and educational kit to every individual
Providing opportunity to play football, cricket, badminton, volleyball Providing and encourage to develop moral well-being

Achievements

  • All students improved in their educational status; as evidence that they have obtained good marks in each unit test.
  • Good rapport and collaboration have been built-up among the teachers and guardian as result of regular linkage meetings.
  • All the students have passed annual examination and promoted to the upper classes.
  • Weight and growth of the children have been improved as the student receiving sufficient nutritional food and enjoying healthy atmosphere for study .
  • Regular health checkups and Practice of personnel Hygiene has been improved among the children. They are maintaining proper cleanliness during shower and washing hand before and after meal, after use of toilet.
