Mehetab Sardar
Case story of Day Care Centre:
Mehetab Sardar is 3 years and 8 months old a Cerebral Palsy child. His father Mizanur Rahaman Sardar is a daily labour and mother Momotaz Bibi is a homemaker. The family lives at Kamdebpur village in Mograhat Block in District of South 24 Parganas.
Status before
Mehetab was brought to PUS and registered his name at Day Care Centre on 10th December 2013 with his various difficulties. We found the following physical problem in his early days at DCC:
1. Weakness in right leg and left hand
2. Excessive Salivation
3. Stand and sit dis-balance.
4. He does not have neck control
5. He could not sit, or hold anything,
6. Lay on the bed.
DCC Contribution
The Project Physiotherapist suggested his parents to go to PG Bangur Institute of Neurology Hospital for proper diagnostic and further treatment.
Dr. Ashit Kumar Senapati, an OPD doctor of Bangur institute of Neurology advised him to take medicine with regular Physiotherapy. After getting all the suggestions from Bangur institute of Neurology department at present the child is very regular in our DCC centre.
He received physiotherapy and Nutritious Diet twice a week. Practice oral motor technique regularly. DCC provides medicine once in a month as per doctor prescription.
The Changes
Now we have noticed his physical changes. He improves neck control. He can sit and hold the things.
He can eat food. He has no convulsion. Saliva secretion is decrease. Now he can walk with the support of others. It is been observed that his family maintain the hygiene at home.
