Her mother Brihaspati Mondal was a housewife. He somehow used to manage their survival with his little earning. So, Pinki Mondal selected as a sponsored child under SAD Langalberia project since 2017.

Problem:
In the month of September 2017, her father had diagnosed of kidney disease. It was very difficult for him to bear the expenses to support his family as well as his treatment. He was then admitted to Baruipur Hospital on 28.09.2017. The doctor immediately referred him to C.N.M.C. & Hospital, Kolkata- and was admitted on 01.11.2017.

Her mother had failed to have the money required to access medication and other expenses for her father’s treatment.   After many struggle, finally her father died on 05.11.2017 without treatment.

Present Situation:
The whole responsibilities of their survival including the study of two daughters come upon her mother. The living situation of the family became very miserable as her mother was unable to manage their survivals. Her mother started to work as maidservant at neighboring house. The education of her 2 daughters was about to stop as she is unable to meet the daily basic needs. Pinki and her sister fetch drinking water from community tube-well, they cleaning their house and also do other household job in the absence of her mother, as her mother goes out of home early in the morning for job. These 2 little children wait in panic for their mother to back home every day.

PUS Support:
The Community teachers of SAD Langalbaria keep in touch with them. The teachers try to continue their education. Pinki comes to school without Tiffin. At the Tiffin time when all the students eat something, Pinki's face becomes sad and sorrow. They usually wear old clothes. Their grandparent is very old and unable to manage their survivals they live at Amtala far from Pink’s house. Sometime they come to stay with them to take care of them as their mother is busy with job.

Family Reaction:
Pinki's mother is very thankful to PUS Baruipur and FADV-Italy for providing them nutritional food packs, health check up, educational materials and toiletries etc which are very helpful for them.
