Joy of Having s Shed for DCC: A shed for DCC children and mothers at Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur inaugurated on 28th November 2017 in its office premises. Inauguration ceremony started with a prayer song “Aguner Porosh Moni Chuyao Prane†in the presence of DCC children and mothers. Fr. Parimal Kanji, the Director of PUS Baruipur shared with the gathering that it is Good Fellas, Italy through FADV extended their support to have this shed for DCC. Â
The DCC children and mothers used to sit in an open space during DCC clinic Days. It was very difficult for the DCC mothers and children to sit in an open place during DCC clinic day, especially during winter, summer and monsoon seasons. They had been pledging to have a shed for them on DCC clinic day. So now they have a shed which would protect them from rain, sunbeams and the cold during different seasons. It was a very joyful and happy day for DCC children and mothers to have shed for them. PUS Baruipur and DCC children and mothers are grateful to FADV and Good Fellas, Italy and FADV for their loving support of shed. The inauguration ceremony was concluded in sharing chocolates among the DCC Mothers and children.
World Disabled Day Observation 2017: Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur observed World Disable Day on 3rd December 2017 in its office premises. Altogether 185 mother & children and 20 Guests & Dignitaries participated in this programme. Beginning of the program, Mrs. Soma Chakraborty one of DCC mothers felicitated to all our honorable guests and participants mothers & children with Chandan Tika and flowers. Fr. Parimal Kanji, Director PUS welcomed  all the guests and DCC children and their mothers.
The programme was inaugurated by lighted the lamp of “Pancha Prodeep†at 10.00 a.m. as a symbol of divine power by Fr. Parimal Kanji, Miss. Nairita Banerjee, Program manager FADV, Mrs. Purabi Mandal,  Member, South 24 Parganas Zila Parisad and other 2 guest & dignitaries.Â
Fr. Parimal Kanji delivers inaugural speech and the objectives the World Disabled Day observation He convey his heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all the guests and parents to attend this programme.
All the speakers shared the feature and importance of World Disable Day, Rights of Children with Disabilities in the fields of Health, Education, Economic and Sport & Culture. Mrs. Pruabi Mandal, member of South 24 Parganas Zila Parishad shared about the Government Schemes available for the special children and the process of accessing them.
The second half of the programme started with sports. All the disabled children participated in sports. 1st, 2nd and 3rd rank holder of each game awarded prizes. The consolation prizes were given to all participant. The programme was concluded with thanks to all the participants. Travelling allowance provided to the Children. At the end of the program all the guests, mothers and children were served meal.Â
Christmas Celebration 2017: Christmas in every year take us back to be the channel of peace, love and hope to others, especially to those who are unloved, uncared and in despair! Keeping this sacred invitation in mind Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur celebrated Christmas 2017 on 3 different levels.
St. Savio Boys’ Hostel Panchamkhanda celebrated the Christmas on 18th December 2017 with 43 students and 6 staffs in the presence of Parish Priest of Panchamkhanda and guests. The day began with lighting the light and a student cut the birthday cake in the name of Jesus which was followed by a Christmas Carole “Ei Subhodin Elo Borodinâ€. All the students of St. Savio Boys’ Hostel participated in sports. At the end of the programme Fr. Sirnus Toppno distributed Towel and Muffler as Christmas gifts to all children. 1st, 2nd & 3rd rank winners of each sports awarded prizes. The celebration was ended with a delicious meal.
On 19th December 2017, Christmas tree was celebrated with 428 children and 27 staffs at Kamlat village under Sonarpur Block. The children exhibited their talents in dancing, drawing pictures, drama, quiz and exhibiting art gallery with much pleasure and cheerfulness. Around thousand people witnessed the day by surveillance programme. Mrs. Tapan Karmakar, Headmaster of local primary school, Mr. Joydev Naru, Ex-Upo Prodhan, Mr. Hari Charan Shuli, Guardian representative and Fr. Parimal Kanji were present to grace the occasion. In the presence of all guest, 3 carry bowls presented to each of the 428 children. 1st, 2nd & 3rd. rank winners of each sport awarded with prizes. The programme came to an end with cutting of Christmas cake.
PUS Baruipur also shared the happiness of Christmas with its neighbouring children on December 21, 2017. The programme was open with a Christmas message “Be compassionate as your Heavenly Father is lenient†by Rt. Rev. Bishop Salvadore Lobo, the president of PUS. Fr. Jonas Singha Vicar General of Baruipur diocese, Fr. Prodeep Ray the director of Paribar Jyoti, Fr. Faustine Brank, Fr. John Britto and other Sisters & Brothers were also present as guest to elegance the celebration. All the guests were welcomed with flower & sandal Tika. The participant neighbouring children were divided as their age groups and they took part in the different sports. At end of the sports, blankets were distributed to 100 poor people. 1st, 2nd & 3rd. rank winners of each sport awarded with prizes. A food packet was served to all the participants’ mothers and children to share the joy of Christmas. Â
