On 8th of March 2015, Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur celebrated International Woman’s Day at Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur to create awareness among the participants regarding rights of woman, social & domestic violence. Different govt. Schemes share to protect the woman basically who are living below poverty line.
At the beginning of programme the dignitaries lighted the lamps for the peaceful starting of the Day. On behalf of Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur Mrs. Sujata Mondal & Miss Pronati Bar welcomed to all the guests and participants with Chandan Tika and rose flower each.
Mr. Biswambhar Halder delivered welcome speech and highlighted our role and responsibilities to protect the woman and their rights. The woman is the heart of each family. They play the major role in the family life. In spite of their greater contribution, the women are neglected and deprived of education & rights. This is the main obstacle for the upliftment of human dignity and proper development of woman in our society. This programme is symbolic for the woman to raise their dignity.
Fr Parimal Kanji had addressed the gathering based on the history of woman’s day by a small introductory session.
He highlighted the present status of women outrage and women death due to domestic violence, social violence, practice of dowry, underage marriage, trafficking and sexual harassment. He addressed on the women rights, different govt. amendments for the protection of women to the participants. He also said to the participants about the availability of different govt. schemes, process of access, and how those schemes can protect the woman from the social violence and discrimination. .
Sr. Manjula Lakra, Asst. Director Congratulated all the mothers on that day and award them of their rights.
By her Small speech, Mrs. Anita Mondal, Prodhan of Hariharpur Gram Panchayet under Baruipur block tried to aware the participants about the important of Self Help Group activity and other govt. facilities for the upliftment of the woman. She gave the assurance of helping women for the implementation and initiative of activities related to women development.
Fr. Parimal Kanji, Director of Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur, Congratulated all the participants for having participated to celebrate the international women’s day. By very brief and touchy speech, he said that the women are the heart of each family, their valuable and selfless contribution help each family to running on a right track. The women are the maker of real human, means only woman can guide and make their children’s future. He also told about the gender discrimination in family. And he requested all the mothers those to take very good care of their girl child.
Mr. Biswambhar Halder, the MC of this programme expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to all the guests and participants for their participation in this programme. After the programme all participant and child were given food packet each and all went back home happy at 12.45 p.m.
Visit of Ms. Elke & Dr. Eva
DKA & KFB Austria has been a good collaborator of Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur. Right now they are supporting 3 projects of PUS Baruipur, namely Block Grant IV, Anti Human Trafficking and Disaster Risk Reduction. In view of monitoring and interacting with the staff engaged on the above mentioned projects Ms. Elke Giaccomozzi, the Chairperson, DKA and Dr. Eva, project coordinator, KFB visited PUS Baruipur 19th to 23rd October, 2015. On 19th October Dr. Eva met all the 18 staff at PUS where the project coordinators of the 3 projects presented the progress reports and then the staff had interaction with her having some questions and answers session. On 21st October along with the staff members they went to Parganti GP under Canning II block to have the field experience with AGG, VCC and meeting people as how people are benefitting from the Project Anti Human Trafficking. The very next day they met Bishop and had dinner at Bishop House. On 23rd October, 2015 they left Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur.
World Disable Day Observation 2015
Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur observed World Disable Day on 3rd December 2015 in its office premises. The programme begun at 10.00 a.m. Altogether 150 special children participated in this programme. Beginning of the program, Mrs. Anamika Karmaker one of DCC mother welcomed all our honorable guests with Chandan Tika and flower.
Rev. Fr. Parimal Kanji welcomed all the guests and inaugurated the session by lighting the lamp as a symbol of Divine power. He also delivers an inaugural speech including the objectives of the Disable Day observation.
Mrs. Anita Mandal, local panchayet prodhan, Mrs. Sathi Guha, the special educator and Mrs. Chaina Guha ICDS supervisor were present as Guest in this observation. All the guest & speakers shared the feature and importance of World Disable Day.
The second half of the programme started with sports. All the disable children contested in sports. Altogether 8 events for children and one special event were conducted for the mothers. 1st, 2nd and 3rd rank holder of each game awarded prizes. The consolation prizes were given to all the participants. The programme was concluded with thanks and gratitude to all. All the participants were provided lunch and travelling allowance.
