Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur has taken initiatives to aware the community within its working areas to combat COVID 19. Thus community can save their lives from this dangerous situation. The staff are facing the difficulties to spread the awareness among the larger community due to lock down.

On emergency basis Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur had distributed 2000 Hand wash soaps among the families.

Through the need assessment, PUS Baruipur had tried to know the basic need of the community of project area namely Muriganga I & II Gram Panchayets under Sagar Block, Basanti, Fulmalancha and Charavidya G.Ps under Basanti block, Bipradaspur, Pathankhali, Sambhunagar & Satjelia GPs under Gosaba Block, Langalberia G.P under Sonarpur block,  Brojaballovpur G.P under Pathorprotima Block in South 24 Parganas and Bermajur I & II, Sandeshkhali and Jeliakhali G.P under Sandeshkhali Block in North 24 Parganas and relief will be given 2500 families of said area.

The following activities are being done by Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur.

• Field staffs of Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur is continuously supporting the Panchayets departments and health department to spread the awareness among the community about the safety measure from COVID-19 and helping the Panchayet for the proper distribution of free PDS (Public Distribution System) commodities for the legal ration card holders and advocacy to Panchayet department for the other poor persons/families those who have no any ratio card or RKSY II card for same ration. (RKSY II : Rastriyo Khaddya Suraskha Yojana) (Food Grain with subsidy price from Govt. Fare Price Ration Shop)

• Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur had distributed 2000 pcs of hand washing soaps to the poor families of project areas.

• Relief will be given to 2500 families starting from March 08, 2020 at Langalberia GP under Sonarpur block.

• PUS field staff members are going  house to house in 26 gram Panchayet areas and aware the community about the safety measure to taken from COVID 19

• Hand holding supporting to the ASHA workers, Panchayet members and health workers for sharing the information, identification of seek and old aged for their proper care.

• PUS Baruipur had created awareness among the 100 mothers and their disabled child through our disabled care project at Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur just before the lock down.

• Identification of daily wage and poor families of focused areas  to work for their daily bread due to Corona lock down different block areas namely Muriganga I & II Gram Panchayets under Sagar Block, Basanti, Fulmalancha and Charavidya G.Ps under Basanti block, Bipradaspur, Pathankhali, Sambhunagar & Satjelia GPs under Gosaba Block, Langalberia G.P under Sonarpur block,  Brojaballovpur G.P under Pathorprotima Block in South 24 Parganas and Bermajur I & II, Sandeshkhali and Jeliakhali G.P under Sandeshkhali Block in North 24 Parganas.

• Palli Unnayan Samiti Baruipur distributed relief (Musk-1, cooking oil-1litre, soyanin-1kg, biscuits-packet, hand wash soap-2 per family) to 500 families (500 x 5=2500 heads) from Langalberia Surath Smriti Vidhya Mandir and Baruli Free Primary School on 08/04/2020. Mr. Balai Bari-member of Zilla Parisha, Mrs. Payel Ghosh-Anchal Pradhan of Langalberial and 14 Panchayet members of Langalberia Gram Pachayet were present during distribution.
